This is a very early version of the game, but it should give you an idea of what it is all about.  The idea isn’t to be a perfect 1:1 port of CS:S movement. There’s no sense in trying to directly compete with CS:S, KSF, or Momentum Mod, I believe CS:S will always be the go-to for high skilled speedrunning. Eventually I want to create a unique experience and possibly even move away from bsp/source engine content. This game will have it’s own map making tools with support for modern features, like writing up some script to affect a player’s velocity in some fancy way.
In addition to that, this project was created with modularity in mind. Speedrunning is a gamemode that can be toggled on or off. I might eventually create gamemodes with elements of PvP or PvE, with their own dedicated servers. Speaking of dedicated servers, I want it to be possible for people to host their own.
Networking, movement, and some other features are heavily based on Source Engine, some things even directly ported from the HL source code. I’ve put a lot of time into getting gameplay just right and fixing issues that existed in Source Engine, such as randomness in physics causing inconsistencies (i.e. slant boost).
